Ruth Weiner

Ruth Weiner nee Spielberg, 90, beloved wife of the late Samuel K. for 66 years; loving mother of David (Suzanne) Weiner, Debra (William) Canon and Pamela Weiner (Dr. Steven Malkin); cherished Boubie of Laura (Michael) McAndrew, Benjamin Weiner (fiancée Ashley Smolen), Jordyn, Kendall and Spencer Malkin; treasured great-Boubie of Jonathan, Noah, Jacob, Benjamin and Alex; many loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was born in Vienna, Austria to Ignaz and Elisabeth Spielberg and left with her family in 1938 to escape Nazi persecution. She was able to recount her memories with a private taping for Steven Spielberg Survivors of the Shoah. She attended University of Chicago where she met Sam and practiced as a school social worker for many years in Highland Park IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HIAS or the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center. Private chapel service. Please attend via livestream, Tuesday 1:30 PM.
